My Desk at the Office

I started out as a receptionist over a year ago, and at the start of 2015 I was given the opportunity to move away from the generic front desk and into a cubical. Before then, I’d never had my own work space that was ‘mine, all mine’, let alone an entire cubical! I was pretty excited, but I was hesitant to make it too personal or unprofessional. It took me a few months to settle in, slowly bringing something of my own in here and there, but just recently, I have begun to personalize my work space a bit more, while still keeping it professional.

A candy dish – to give you and your co-workers easy access to an afternoon pick-me-up (warning: this might make your desk a popular stop around the office)

Nice smelling hand sanitizer and lotion – for those times you need refresher (like when someone brings a dog into the office and you can’t help but pet it), and for when your dry skin needs a little help.

Lotion/Sanitizer

A picture frame, a plant, and some art – to give your desk some life, some love, and some loveliness.

Cute pencil and file holders, as well as some colorful sticky notes – to give your space a little pizzazz.

Some fun clips for files or paperwork – to make your ‘To Do’ list a little less dreary.

A pretty wall calendar – for a pop of color.

A fun (and comfortable) mouse pad and wrist rest – for comfort, as well as style.

A nail file, mini perfume, and some mints – for those times you need a quick refresher before a meeting. (I keep these in my desk drawer)

How do you spice up your work space? I would love to see some of your photos!

I love how neat your desk is. I try to keep it the same way, but somehow I always end up with having too many things on it 🙁 I think a file holder like yours may help me!
