My Valentine

I’ve seen a version of this cute little questionnaire floating around and thought I would tweak it a bit (because it was originally geared towards married couples) and give it a go in the spirit of Valentine’s Day!

1. Where did you meet your other half?
Technically, Cody and I met in high school, although I don’t remember it. We had math together for part of our junior year. But about two years ago, Cody requested to follow me on Instagram and sent me a friend request on Facebook. I recognized his name so I accepted. We started talking and met up at the park by my house a few days later.

2. How long have you been with your significant other?
It will be 2 years at the end of next month!

3. If you’re married, when did you say “I do”?
We are not married quite yet.

4. What is your song?
Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran.

5. Do you have any children yet?
No kids, but ideally we would like to have 2 someday.

6. What’s your favorite thing about your other half?
Cody is so positive. He knows how to see the good in things and bounce back after a hard hit – and he encourages me to do so as well. He also gets really excited about things and puts everything he has into them, which is super cute.

7. Were you and your other half high school sweethearts?
Nope! But like I mentioned, we did go to the same high school and we are currently attending college together.

8. Where was your first date?
On our first “official” date, Cody took me miniature golfing and then we went to get some ice cream. I think we also ended up at one of our houses and watched a movie together. It was super cliche and I loved every minute of it. It was perfect.

9. How long were you dating before you said “I love you”?
We had been casually “talking”/dating for over a month, but we had only been official for a week or two. So soon, I know – but when you know, you know!

10. How long were you dating your other half before you started talking about marriage?
Probably about 3 or 4 months. I know by 3 months I had fully accepted that despite it sounding rash, I 100% knew that Cody was the one.

11. Where is your favorite place you have traveled with your other half?
That’s a tough one. Taking Cody to Morro Bay for the first time was super special and a big deal because of how much that place means to me. But I honestly would have to say that we had the most fun when we went to Disneyland last year. I can’t wait to go back for our anniversary!

12. How do you and your other half usually spend Valentines Day?
We have only had one Valentines Day, but based on last year and our plans for this year, our tradition seems to be to go on a day date, Cody cooks me a fancy dinner, and we make sure to spend some quality time together.

13. What does your favorite date night’ consist of?
We love Chili’s, so if we can’t figure out where to go for dinner on a date night we usually end up there. One of our favorite combos seems to be dinner and window shopping. We love to walk around, popping into little shops, striking up conversations with each other. Lately we have been cooking together a lot too. Recently, another one of our favorite things to do is open a bottle of wine and make some pizzas at home and watch the Food Network. We’re pretty simple. Anything that involves food and quality time is a good date in our opinion.

14. What is the best gift you have received from your other half?
Last year for our very first Valentine’s Day, Cody set up a table in his backyard, strung lights all around, had a bonfire going, and cooked me the most delicious meal I have ever had. When I walked out and saw the setup I cried. No one had ever gone to so much trouble for me before. I felt so loved. The only thing that comes close is the promise ring he gave me for our one year anniversary in Disneyland right before Fantasmic started. He has great taste and the timing was perfect.

I hope you all have a sweet, sweet Valentine’s Day!
