We ended June and started July with a vacation – lots of yummy, super unhealthy, absolutely delicious food and drinks. That was quickly followed by 4th of July, where we went to two different parties and enjoyed two smorgasbords of fantastic food and drinks. Then there were several date nights that included food like pasta and wine. Then this past weekend we puttered around the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival…and we had, well, wine. Duh! And oh yeah…there was a foot-long corn dog and some chocolates. And as if that wasn’t enough, we went to Aqui’s for Mexican food and Swirls on Saturday night, followed by ice cream at the place a few doors down. And we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch on Sunday. And I may still have a ring pop in my purse…
This sounds awful.
Needless to say, we have been living it up! But it’s time for a cleanse because we are going on a pontoon next weekend! So we have FIVE DAYS to cleanse our bodies before we fully intend to put on bathing suits and stuff our faces. So naturally (ha, yeah right…naturally…), we have decided to go vegan for the next five days.
This should be an interesting, long, but worthwhile week. I have definitely been feeling sluggish these past few weeks, so it will be interesting to see what a week of no animal products will do for my body and energy levels.
We fully intend to check back in at the end to let you know what we ate, what parts were challenging for us, and to let you know the results!
